This summer I've been recording live from Christie Pits during Toronto Maple Leafs Baseball Club games. This partnership with TML Baseball has been amazing. A huge thanks to CEO Keith Stein to bringing me on board.
These remote recordings are always great fun, and they really capture the moment. They're all "live to tape" with an interesting assortment of guests cycling through, and they all result in a pretty sweet dopamine hit. Just give me a table, chairs and somewhere to plug in my gear and let me go.
In the future, I'd love more partnerships like this, with a live remote recording component. My partnership with Palma Pasta includes a live recording from the Palma's Kitchen once a year, and I've hosted many live recordings at Great Lakes Brewery, not to mention the recent recording from the Joe Carter Classic at Glen Abbey Golf Club (thanksRod!). These recordings are not only popular episodes of Toronto Mike'd, but are also archived and preserved for future on-demand listening.
With September beckoning, I'm starting to think about future Toronto Mike'd a partnership and this exciting live remote recording component, and I'm keen to chat with anyone who might want to be a part of this and has a location or event in need of marketing, press or pristine authentic audio preservation. The possibilities are endless, and 18 years at the top of the game has taught me a thing or two.
Let's make beautiful podcasts together!
