Will Bo Bichette resign or re-sign? The meaning of these two words are almost opposite, but they're often confused.
If one resigns, they're quitting, or to put it gentler, voluntarily leaving their gig. But if one re-signs, they're re-upping, or signing up to continue the gig. The hope in Blue Jays land is that Ross Atkins resigns, and doesn't re-sign. Same with Mark Shapiro, but I digress...
In the world of audio, a world I live in these days, resign and re-sign sound the same, and more often than not on social media, you'll read "resign" when the author means "re-sign". It's a recipe for confusion.
And for the record, I hope Bo Bichette re-signs.
