Dina Pugliese, host of Breakfast Television since taking over for Liza Fromer in 2006, has announced she is leaving the show. Her last appearance will be February 24, 2023.
I have decided it is my time to step down and leave the show. I’ll tell you this didn’t happen overnight, this has been a feeling I’ve had for a while now,” Pugliese announced on BT Wednesday. This job has been not a job, it’s been a passion, it’s been a blessing from day one.
I am going to miss you but I am going to be here because I hate goodbyes. I just want to say think you for your love and support.
I have never met Dina, although I've often thought she'd make a fantastic Toronto Mike'd guest. I do often see her face as I bike Humber College's south campus because there are several pennants flying in honour of Humber College graduates.
Dina has said she's quitting to spend more time with her husband. Similarly, Melanie Ng recently left Breakfast Television to spend more time with her family.
