Typically, when I use the π₯ emoji, it's a good thing. Hebsy was pure π₯ today. Stu Stone's movie is π₯. Felix Auger-Aliassime is on π₯. π₯ is good. Usually.
Twitter is on π₯, and it's not good. It's no secret to anyone who has been paying attention to my ramblings here over the past decade, or my mumbling on Toronto Mike'd, that Twitter is the only social media platform I actually enjoy. I've been a heavy user of the app for well over a decade, and have tweeted as @torontomike over 107,000 times. That's a lot of tweeting!
I'm still tweeting, but since Elon Musk took over mere days ago after buying the social media company for $44 billion, it's looking rather bleak. Today there are 1000s of Twitter employees getting that tap on the shoulder that their services are no longer required.
At this point, I'm just going to lay back and enjoy it. It's a hell of a toboggan ride.
