The other night, I was chatting with Barney Bentall, and he made a comment that he was just starting to make the name Barney cool when that big purple dinosaur showed up.
Off the top of my head, I started naming famous Barneys. The first three that jumped into my head, excluding the aforementioned dinosaur, were Barney Fife from The Andy Griffith Show, Barney Rubble from The Flinstones, and Barney Gumble from The Simpsons.
This morning I started thinking of other famous Barneys. There's Barney Stinson from How I Met Your Mother, and Barney Miller from Barney Miller. That Barney Miller theme song was pretty awesome.
Here's a fun fact for you about the Barney Miller theme song. That's the jam the inspired the late Cliff Burton to pick up a bass guitar.
Here's another fun fact about all these Barneys. Every single one of them is a fictional character, except for Barney Bentall. That alone makes him the coolest Barney.
