I was lucky enough to score a ticket to tonight's match at BMO Field between Toronto FC and the New York Red Bulls. TFC was sleepy in the first half, but the second half was rather exciting as Ralph Priso scored in the 62nd minute to tie things up.
But really, the score didn't matter. I was one of 15,000 people gathered together to watch professional soccer. It's been 16 months since that was even a possibility. Tonight, amidst the firecrackers and chants and cheers, everything felt normal.
I've always felt comfortable outdoors, and on this breezy evening, watching with a fully vaxxed bud, I didn't worry about COVID-19 for a minute.
