Amsterdam has been called the "Venice of the North" for its more than one hundred kilometres of canals, about 90 islands and 1,500 bridges. I didn't have to count them to come up with those figures because I copied that line from Wikipedia. That's also where I copied this great shot of Amsterdam and her many wonderful canals.
You eventually get used to the bikes, but I don't think I'll ever get used to the canals. They're so different and beautiful.
Update: It was a great, sunny day today (Aug 10) so I took new canal pictures.
