My son plays hockey at George Bell Arena, but his practices take place outdoors at High Park Rink. There are weekly practices scheduled through March.
Yesterday, I received an email from my son's coach letting me know the outdoor practices are cancelled for the rest of the season because the city has shut down the rink. The reason? Warm weather.
When was the last time outdoor rinks in Toronto were closed due to warm weather when the calendar still read February? I'll bet it's never happened.
