Last month, I wrote about the problem with my favourite jacket. That's the kind of amazing content you can expect here. In a nutshell, I love my 12-year old leather jacket but the lining and pockets have virtually disappeared, and some might suggest it's time for a new one.
Your comments ran the gamut from "don't be a cheap ass, buy a new jacket" to "do whatever it takes to repair that jacket". I think I started to believe I had a choice to make, but in reality, it wasn't a choice at all. I had to save my old favourite, because that's how I'm wired.
I shopped around, got a bunch of quotes and ended up splurging for a new thinsulate lining, new pockets and a functional zipper. I turned it in yesterday and she'll be as good as new by next fall.
Except she won't be new, and that was the point.
