I'm featuring 1988 Topps Cards featuring members of my beloved Blue Jays that are featured on this blog.
Lest we forget that we won a World Series with light hitting Manuel "Don't Call Me Manny" Lee playing shortstop. In 1991 he became the only guy to ever strike out 100 times in a season with no homers. That's amazing!
Manuel "Don't Call Me Manny" Lee is a throwback to a time when you wanted defence from your shortstop and you were willing to put up with abysmal offence from the position. As mediocre as he was at the plate, we won it all with him and he helped us win that first AL East pennant in '85.
Just don't call him Manny.
