I just read a great CRACKED.com article entitled 7 Movies Based on a True Story (That Are Complete Bullshit). It's a good read, but be warned. It may shatter your entire belief system.
A number of the films in their group of seven are amongst my favourites of all-time. Rudy, The Pursuit of Happyness, Lean on Me, Good Morning, Vietnam and The Hurricane are all flicks I dig, but they aren't as based on a true story as you were led to believe.
