When Bo Diddley passed away yesterday at the age of 79, it reminded me of the Bo Knows ad campaign for Nike in the late 80s and early 90s.
The first Bo Knows ad featured Bo Jackson and cameos from Kirk Gibson, Jim Everett, Michael Jordan, John McEnroe and Wayne Gretzky. It ended with Jackson trying to play the guitar, whereupon blues legend Bo Diddley says, "Bo, you don't know diddley."
I'll bet there are a whole bunch of people out there who only know Bo Diddley from this ad.
