When James was two, he was a daddy's boy. I'd be lying if I didn't admit I enjoyed being the preferred parent. James loved his mommy but he wanted daddy to read his bedtime story and if given the choice he'd choose to tag along with whatever daddy was up to. I was his clear favourite.
Michelle is now two and I've noticed she seems to prefer mommy. I'm starting to realize it's not as fun on this side of the coin. Don't get me wrong, Michelle and I are very close and we're bonding all the time, but there are little signs all over the place that she's a mama's girl.
It's all typical, normal behaviour for kids to have a slight preference, and since we were each chosen by the child of the same sex, it's totally understandable. She can run, but she can't hide. She's always going to be my Michelle.
