Mario Lemieux just took the Pittsburgh Penguins off the market. The writing's on the wall and it looks as if the Penguins will call another city home next season. Ever the optimist, I've found a nice silver lining for Leafs Nation.
Kansas City, Las Vegas, Houston, Oklahoma City and Seattle are among the cities trying land an NHL franchise. A move to any of those cities will bump the Pens from the Eastern conference to the Western conference. That would mean the Detroit Red Wings would be heading back into the Leafs' conference and a glorious rivalry will be renewed. We'll have lots of games against our Norris division pals and that's great news from this perspective.
They can't say Mario didn't try. Bring back the Scouts and bring the Red Wings home.
