Mother's day for me is a time to reflect what my Mom did as I grew up with 4 other kids. Being the oldest & the only son I was very close to her especially after she suffered a stroke in 1987 & was in wheelchair with limited capabilities. It was at that time I realized she needed me much like I needed her as I grew up. Dad was there for different reasons. He passed away in 1991 & I took control of my mother's well being.
Son's seem to be closer to their Mothers than their Fathers. My twins are much closer to their mother than me & I can understand why. Fathers are there for support but Mom's are there for everything else.
Mom passed away in Feb/05 & I still think of her. Mom I miss you - Happy Mothers Day from all of us.

I agree. Last Mother's Day I wrote "mothers have the most important job in the world. I'm not trying to slight fathers, as we're playing a vital role too, but mothers are at the top."
It's not fair, but it's reality.
