Winnie the Pooh just got a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. It's pretty rare that they honour fictional characters in this manner. Check out all these names and count the number of non-humans. There are ten: Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Big Bird, Kermit the Frog, Bugs Bunny, Godzilla, Lassie, Rin Tin Tin, The Simpsons, and The Rugrats.
There is a petition to get Mario his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. No, not that guy from "Saved By The Bell", I'm talking about the guy we first met in Donkey Kong before he and Luigi stole our hearts in Super Mario Bros. I support this initiative. I believe Mario deserves such recognition. Why should the Pooh get all the glory?
