A little over a year ago, I used iTunes to take note of some interesting facts about my MP3 collection. Sure, these facts were only interesting to me, but it was still interesting.
I thought I'd answer the same questions and see how things have changed. An (s) means it's the same as it was then while a (d) means it's different. Excited? Here we go...
- First song when sorted alphabetically: '03 Bonnie & Clyde - Jay-Z w/ Beyonce Knowles (d)
- Last song when sorted alphabetically: Zooropa - U2 (s)
- First artist when sorted alphabetically: $10,000 Gold Chain (d)
- Last artist when sorted alphabetically: ZZ Top (s)
- Shortest song, excluding songs of silence: Jim Backus - 3rd Bass @ 0:04 (s)
- Longest song, excluding songs with large periods of silence within: Echoes - Pink Floyd @ 23:27 (s)
- First album when sorted alphabetically: (What's the Story) Morning Glory? - Oasis (s)
- Last album when sorted alphabetically: Zooropa - U2 (s)
- Total number of songs in my collection: 17678 (d)
- Time required to play entire collection without repeating a song: 46.9 days (d)
The biggest difference is that my collection is twice the size it was then. I don't anticipate the same growth this year.
