Ontario Progressive Conservative MPP John O'Toole has re-introduced a private member’s bill to ban drivers from using cell phones in this province. That's fine, but I'm hoping for the introduction of another private member's bill. I'd like to make it illegal to keep your Christmas lights up after January 31.
I think this is a good and sensible law. For most of us, it's unnecessary as we sensibly take down our Christmas lights after the holiday season. For some, and I'm thinking of one house in particular, this is not as obvious. February 24 is simply too far removed from the holidays to justify the existence of lit christmas lights adorning ones porch.
I'm not sure if this is a federal thing, a provincial thing or a municiple thing. I'll start with my Toronto City Councillor and take it from there.
