Crash: 8.5 out of 10.
I'm a big fan of Paul Thomas Anderson's "Magnolia". I've seen it several times and I love the style. It's a big ensemble cast with several interwoven plotlines that create a greater thought-provoking sense. "Magnolia" came out six years ago and I hadn't watched a flick since that came close to this all-encompassing spirit. Canadian Paul Haggis' "Crash" is filmed in a similar style with a similar positive effect.
It's a well-written, well acted two hours that makes a number of bold statements about our racist world. It was exceptional and now it's made me want to watch "Magnolia" again.
