Ladder 49: 4.5 out of 10.
I found "Ladder 49" so utterly forgettable, I forgot to write this review yesterday despite the fact I watched it Saturday night. I'm tired of these formulaic flicks where you can predict everything that's going to happen. "Ladder 49" wasn't a particularly bad film, it was just entirely uninteresting. I was so bored.
Joaquin Phoenix's publicist deserves a huge bonus because I somehow regard him as a great actor despite the fact I don't remember really liking him in anything. Sure, he was good in "Gladiator", but maybe I like him because I miss his brother? He's definitely over rated, as is John Travolta who I've never liked except for a little gem he was lucky to be a part of called "Pulp Fiction".
What happened to all the clever writers in Hollywood? Methinks they've sold their souls for a piece of the back end.
