Four years ago today, 2,749 people were killed in Manhattan, 184 people died in Washington and 40 died in Pennsylvania as a result of the worst act of terrorism ever to take place on North American soil.
Last year on this day, I wrote a detailed account of what I remembered about September 11, 2001. In that entry, I stated my belief that you can't kill spirit. You can kill people, even thousands of people at once, but terrorism cannot destroy our civilization or threaten our way of life and the spirit upon which it is based.
What was once fear is now resilience. Freedom, equality and hope are bullet proof. We remember those who perished and realize we're stronger than we thought. You can't kill spirit.
