Much has been made of the sales surge Live 8 artists experienced after their performance on Saturday. Pink Floyd sales rose, The Who's sales rose, U2's sales rose, and so on.
I'd file this one under "D" for duh. In the three days following Live 8, I've noticed myself clicking more of the artists I heard on Saturday. They're in my conscious mind and I've recently thought about their catalogue and what songs I'd like them to play and what songs they ended up playing. I've been spinning more Neil Young, Blue Rodeo, Bruce Cockburn, Motley Crue, Pink Floyd and Dido since I caught a glimpse of them all on Saturday.
That kind of exposure can only help, although I've yet to seek out a Madonna tune. Now where is my "Like A Virgin" cassette tape?
