At yesterday's NHL draft, our Toronto Maple Leafs acquired Jeff O'Neill from the Carolina Hurricanes in exchange for a conditional draft pick and quickly signed him to a two-year, $3 million deal. The former 41 goal scoring O'Neill is my kind of player and he's a very welcome addition to the blue and white.
Speaking of yesterday's draft, the Leafs took Finnish goaltender Tuukka Rask with the 21st overall pick. The Leafs have not drafted and developed a front-line goalie since Felix Potvin in 1990. Here's hoping Rask changes that.
