Netscape 8 was launched today. That's right, I said Netscape. My million dollar question for a friend at work who downloaded it this morning was, "And how is this better than Firefox?"
The fact is, it's not better than Firefox. In fact, Firefox is a great deal smaller and just as safe, scoring it massive points on the Booner scale. Netscape 8 is wholly unnecessary with Firefox around. I suppose as a web author it would be handy to toggle back and forth between the Firefox and Internet Explorer rendering engines, but otherwise it's simply redundant.
