"Cinderalla Man" hits theatres next Tuesday. Seeing the ads on TV takes me back to the wee hours of the morning of July 29, 2004.
It's difficult to effectively communicate that natural high you have at 3:00 in the morning when you're driving home along Bay Street after watching your daughter enter the world. Michelle was healthy, I was ecstatic and the world before me was of a different era. This wasn't a hallucination, but the filming of "Cinderella Man". I was forced to stop and watch as several people dressed in 1930s garb walked the street in front of a building that was modified to look like Madison Square Gardens. It was very cool.
Every time I see footage of this movie, particularly the exterior shots of Madison Square Gardens, I'm brought back to that day I first laid eyes on my Michelle and my first nephew. I haven't seen it yet, but it's already one of my favourite movies of all time.
