A couple of months ago I wrote about my search for sugar free bubble gum. A couple of days ago, I visited our local Wal*Mart to pick up a few items. As always when I visit a Wal*Mart, I paid a visit to the gum rack hoping the sugar free bubble gum I used to enjoy would reappear. This time, I thought I had found the answer to my prayers.
They were carrying a new product. It was bags of Dubble Bubble sugar free bubble gum and I bought a couple of packs thinking my long search was finally over. I was wrong. I popped the first piece in my mouth and was pleased with the taste and texture. Then, it came time to blow the initial bubble. To my extreme disappointment, this gum wasn't designed for blowing bubbles. It tasted like bubble gum, it looked like bubble gum and it was made by Dubble Bubble, but this was no bubble gum.
I took a picture of the wrapper. Have a glance and you'll see in very small print next to the "Bubble Gum" label the word "Flavour". I don't want sugar free bubble gum flavoured gum. I want bubble gum I can actually blow bubbles with.
Won't get fooled again.
