I mentioned I watched "Dave Chapelle: For What It's Worth" the other day. Chapelle closes with a little story that summarizes perfectly how I'm feeling these days.
He's talking about his three year old son giving him a necklace made out of macaroni. Chapelle's looking down at his kid and getting misty eyed. His son asks, "Why are you sad daddy?". Chappelle explains he's not sad but happy. What Chapelle wants to say in miraculous wonderment is "You came from my balls! And now you're making necklaces out of macaroni!"
Bingo. Recently my three year old son came home from nursery school with a necklace he made and I felt the same bewilderment. He's so damn smart and so sweet and I can't believe he came from my balls. Now that's a miracle.
