This morning may be the last time we can rightfully call SkyDome, SkyDome. At some point this morning, the Rogers Empire will unveil a new name for the chunk of concrete our Jays lovingly call home. This is all part of their wily scheme to attract fans to the stadium, as the Jays will also announce a new state-of-the-art scoreboard and new artificial turf, one that has the look and feel of natural grass.
I have a better idea. Instead of new artificial turf that looks and feels like natural grass, lets put in natural grass! As for the name, I'll reserve judgment until I hear what it is. I'm going to guess they'll call it Rogers SkyDome, Rogers Dome or something wonderfully corporate like that. What a surprise.
I'll post my reaction to the new name just as soon as it's unveiled. Stay tuned.
