If an AHL regular season game is left undecided during a sudden death overtime, it goes to a shootout to determine a winner. Last night the St. John's Maple Leafs' final home opener went to a shootout where they eventually lost to the Syracuse Crunch. We're still winless in four games, but at least they give you a point for losing a shootout.
Mikael Tellqvist stopped 32 of 34 shots and David Ling continued to lead the offense scoring in regulation and again in the shootout.
