Last night would have been the first regular season game of the year for my Toronto Maple Leafs. As we all know, the NHL is in lockout mode and there's no telling when they'll get back to playing hockey that matters. In the interim, I've got a contingency plan. I've decided to continue recapping Leafs games in this space, as I did all last season, only it will have to be our AHL affiliate, the St. John's Maple Leafs.
Pascal Leclaire played an awesome game between the pipes for the Crunch, turning aside all 28 shots that St. John's sent his way. Maple Leafs' goalie Mikael Tellqvist stopped 21 of 24 Syracuse shots. Next up, the Portland Pirates.
