In Bush League Bell I wrote about how my home phone service was abruptly cancelled on Friday afternoon and on Saturday I gave you an update which was basically that Bell can but won't do anything until I call their customer service this morning. I just got off the phone with them and the results are revealed below.
They admitted I went without service for the entire weekend because of a typo on their end and they've promised my service will be restored within the hour. At the end of learning this, I was given the "we're sorry for any inconvenience this might have caused". That was going to be it. There was going to be no offer of a credit for my troubles. All I was going to get was a credit for the three days I was without service which amounts to about $3.
No way, Jose. My wife is nine months pregnant, I've got lots of stuff going on and I've been unable to send or receive calls the entire weekend because of a Bell CSR's typo. $3 isn't going to cut the mustard. I was fed line after line about CRTC regulations and audits and how they really only have to credit me the $3 and at the end she agreed I was royally screwed and deserved a little more. So, my account has been credited a whopping $25.
I'll take the $25 but I'm still switching to Sprint Canada. Once I do, I'll finally be free of Bell Canada and won't have a single service with them for the first time in my life. We'll see how it goes.
