I submitted a song via the Smells Like Sour website for SLS11 consideration.
I submitted "Slither" by Velvet Revolver. "Slither" is a cool blend of STP and Guns N' Roses, two of my favourite bands of all time. Scott Weiland offers the STP-style vocals we all know and love while Slash and the others give you that taste of the Gunners. This is a very cool tune that gets better and better with every listen.
Velvet Revolver and Audioslave have a lot of similarities. Both are fronted by lead singers from very popular grunge-era bands. Audioslave's Chris Cornell was lead singer of Soundgarden while Velvet Revolver's Scott Weiland fronted the Stone Temple Pilots. The remainder of Audioslave were members of Rage Against the Machine while the remainder of Velvet Revolver were members of Guns N' Roses. The name Audioslave is rather similar to the name Soundgarden. Audio=Sound. Velvet Revolver's name is similar to the name Guns N' Roses. A revolver is a gun and it's juxtaposed with velvet much like gun was juxtaposed with roses. And finally, a song from each band will most likely appear on SLS11. Both Audioslave's "What You Are" and Velvet Revolver's "Slither" will make the cut. You can bet on it.
