Anyone is welcome to submit a Guest Blog Entry to torontomike.com. I received the following submission earlier today.
Mike, with any luck the grizzled veterans will not be back when the Leafs play hockey again. It's time to start a new Leaf team with players that are young enough to keep up, play defence and stay injury free. A new coach would be nice also.

Watching teams like Tampa Bay play does make you wonder what it would be like to have a young, fast team. Our route has always been to trade the young guys and draft picks for veterans and to sign veterans via free agency. As a result, there was little quality youth on our team and a bunch of character grinders with little speed and skill. Through in a tired Gary Roberts and a hurting Owen Nolan, Joe Niewendyk and Alexander Mogilny and you're left with #13 and not much else in the way of an offense threat.
For once, I don't completely disagree with you.
