The Maple Leafs only have a single regular season game to play, yet there are so many possibilities when it comes to our first round match up. With our win last night it's still possible to win the Northeast division and secure the 2nd seed in the conference but it's also possible to finish third in the division and be seeded 6th. The ideal scenario is this: Boston loses their last two games and we beat the Sens tonight to win the division and the 2nd seed. In this instance, we get to face the Montreal Canadiens in the first round. Admittedly, the odds of Boston losing both remaining games is slim, but Joe Thornton is day-to-day with an upper body injury and they are playing New Jersey both games. Anything is possible.
I love this time of the year. Tonight's game against Ottawa is going to be great. With a victory, we leap frog the Sens and guarantee ourselves home ice for the first round. Go Leafs Go!
