From where I was sitting, the Leafs looked very strong last night. I was 16 rows up with an excellent view of the net every Leaf goal was scored into. A glance at my collection of Ticket Stubs will show you I've seen most of my games from the old greys at Maple Leaf Gardens or the ACC equivalent. I had never been as close to the action as I was last night.
Although things looked a little rough early in the first, the blue and white quickly turned things around. My brother Steve and I had an exceptional view of Brian Leetch's partial breakaway that led to Tie Domi's opening marker. Our top line was flying as well with Gary Roberts, Mats Sundin and Alexander Mogilny all having big nights.
On a personal note, I would like to thank Steve for the ticket and congratulate him on catching a puck. During the warm ups, an unidentified Thrasher took a shot that rebounded off the crossbar and just cleared the net above the glass. It ended up hitting Steve on his thigh and he ended up with a very cool souvenir. He's had to watch in envy while I caught a couple of balls at SkyDome off the bats of Richie Sexson and Shannon Stewart respectfully, but I was the one turning green last night when he ended up with the vulcanized rubber. It was a great night.
