The Plain English Campaign conducted a poll of the most annoying cliches in the English language. Here are their most annoying four:
- At the end of the day
- At this moment in time
- like
- With all due respect
I'm guilty of using the fourth one, but I'm proud to claim I don't use the first three. At least not at this moment in time. Besides, at the end of the day it's still...like...English, right?
