There's a lot of crap on television these days. If you take away sports, there's almost nothing I enjoy watching. Sure, there's still The Simpsons on Sunday nights and one of the three Law and Order's when I have nothing better to do, but other than that and the odd A&E show, I've got nothing until the new seasons of The Sopranos, Six Feet Under and Curb Your Enthusiasm. Seriously, I can't stomach anything else.
One show I did enjoy before it was cancelled was The Family Guy. It wasn't as subtle as The Simpsons, but it was always chock full of clever pop culture references and ludacris cut-aways. It was one of the funnier shows in a sea of crappy sit-coms.
Great news! Reports indicate 20th Century Fox is considering raising The Family Guy from the dead. Apparently, as many as 35 new episodes could return in January of 2005. Praise the Lord. As Stewie Griffin once said, "Yes, I rather like this God fellow. He's very theatrical, you know, a pestilence here, a plague there. Omnipotence. Gotta get me some of that."
