After Saturday's game, I was just glad to see some of our forwards actually made it to the ACC for this one. Still, when you out shoot a team by a two-to-one margin and can still only garner a tie at home, something is amiss.
The Leafs have to become a more disciplined team. Both Washington goals came on the power play, both the result of bad penalties. I was glad to see Pat Quinn benching Wade Belak after he took yet another unnecessary trip to the box, but this morning's paper suggests this was because Quinn thought the refs were unfairly targeting Belak and he had to get him off the ice to stop the bleeding. I hope this isn't true. I hope Quinn benched Belak as a signal to him and others that bad penalties will not be tolerated this season. If you don't obey, you don't play.
