The Internet is a great tool, isn't it? Accessing and sharing information has never been easier. I applaud the Alberta government for introducing The Alberta Electronic Health Record. The Alberta Electronic Health Record is an Internet database of patients' medical information that will be used by almost all health professionals in the province.
Think about it. Every citizen's health record, such as prescription history, allergies, lab test results and ailments, can be accessed by doctors, nurses, pharmacists and other professionals who would need to view and update this information. The end result of this centralized, streamlined communication is better healthcare for patients. All of Canada should follow Alberta's lead.
We must harness the power of the Internet to improve the quality of life for all. Or in this case, maybe the quantity of life too.
