I didn't see this coming. Wow. Brian Burke has a five year deal on the table to become the new President and GM of the Toronto Maple Leafs.
According to Damien Cox, the only thing holding up the announcement is the reporting structure of the new regime, whether Burke will report directly to the MLSE board on a regular basis, or to a senior executive like current Leaf president Richard Peddie.
I don't know if this is the right direction, but it's direction, and we've been rudderless for so long I'm just relieved to know the end of our mediocrity is potentially in sight.
