Al just wrote me about First Sounds, a blog written by Derry, a former Deaf Mute who had his life changed by a specialist who did an implant surgery giving him the ability to hear and speak. Al does a far better job describing First Sounds.

It's Al, one of your faithful readers and a fellow blogger. I don't normally do this, but I felt compelled to let you know about a blog I've been reading that may interest you. I write about it on my own blog here. The blog is called First Sounds. I feel it's very important that this kid's story be read by as many people as possible. The blog only has 15 entries thus far, but it's pretty hearty stuff and well written. The author is now dealing with a tumour on the base of his brain stem. He's in Kitchener, Ontario, which is about 100 km west of Toronto for you out-of-towners.
