They're doing it again.
We Leaf fans are probably the most perennially punished patrons of any professional sports team. Our hopes are high, our teams are mediocre, yet with nine games to go we all know we have a chance. With nine games to go we're right in the thick of things, living on the playoff edge. We're cautiously optimistic while subconsciously expecting the worst.
We're in hell, rather appropriate since the Leafs are in Buffalo. The next two games against those damn Sabres could make us or break us. Knowing the Leafs, they'll likely split the series and we'll be strung along for six more games until the season finale against the Habs.
That's when they'll break our collective hearts.... again.
