Prior to writing this entry regarding the Olympic games in Turin, I checked out CBC's broadcast schedule to learn when the opening ceremonies would be taking place. It's clearly marked Feb 10 01:00 which I immediately interpreted as one in the morning. Only this morning did I see "pm" on the second line.
What's the purpose of the opening "0" in 01:00? It indicates twenty four hour time, right? 01:00 should never be used for 1:00 pm. The CBC has either got to go with the 24 hour clock or the am/pm thing, but this hybrid has got to go.
I'm glad I didn't stay up for the ceremony.
