I just created a playlist that includes all my Christmas albums plus all seasonal songs found on other albums in my collection. I then removed all repeats. The same song may appear multiple times, but only if it's by different artists. Only one "White Christmas" by Bing Crosby allowed!
This holiday playlist now stands at 247 songs. That gives me 12.4 hours of Christmas music without hearing the same song by the same artist twice. I'm shuffling this playlist as I type.
"Silent Night" is the song the appears the most number of times. There are six versions on my Christmas playlist, from the following artists:
- Bing Crosby
- Elvis Presley
- Frank Sinatra
- Stevie Nicks
- The Primatives
- Boys II Men
Appearing five times are several songs, including "The First Noel", "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" and "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing". Although I only have the one version, nothing says Merry Christmas like "Mr. Hankey The Christmas Poo". Why more artists haven't covered this holiday classic is beyond me.
