John Cerutti was 44. He was a former pitcher for my Toronto Blue Jays and a current Blue Jays television announcer.
A left-hander from Albany, Cerutti joined the Blue Jays in 1985 and spent six seasons with the club. He was to work today's season finale against the Yankees but was found dead in his hotel room. I remember him well as a member of the great Blue Jays starting rotations of the late 80s and of course from the Blue Jays telecasts. I believe this is the first member of the Blue Jays teams I knew and loved to have passed away.
